The staff were nice, and there is motorbike parking. We stayed one night in a standard room for 300k a night. It was medium-sized, with a sliding bathroom door, but the walls were thin enough that we could hear the neighbors coming and going from their bathroom. Inside, there was only a tap and bucket, not even a basin. It looked new from outside, but I’d probably stay somewhere else. The standard in berastagi is definitely below what you get in Medan or other places. No fan or air conditioning either. Most guests seemed to arrive by car, though I don’t know why they chose this place.

It’s not great, just okay, but if you’re on a budget it’s an option. There’s parking, and maybe an upstairs room would be better than one on the ground floor. The heater works, which matters in a cold place this elevated, like Geeting, Kundasang, Air Madidi. There’s wifi, though it may not work well in every room. No air conditioning or fan, but there’s plenty of natural AC. I was out from 7AM until 5PM, so I can’t say how warm the room gets around midday. There’s no ventilator either.
The breakfast was the one good thing. The facilities were poor, the room was basic, cleanliness was so-so, and there was no hot water in a room costing 300k, which already felt pretty expensive. The electricity also went out in the morning. I asked reception to fix it, and it took over an hour before it came back. When I arrived at 11pm, I didn’t feel welcome. I needed somewhere to sleep, so I stayed, but otherwise I would have left. As a foreigner, I needed help. I asked the reception staff about buses and got “I don't know,” with no effort to check or help. The next day, staff at the indomaret helped me instead. It’s a shame for the hotel. I’ve traveled to more than 60 countries, and this place is badly managed. Some cheap hotels do much better. I can’t recommend it: the staff weren’t helpful, the value wasn’t good, and it was one of my worst experiences.
The room was nice, and so was the receptionist. Just a heads-up, an extra bed doesn’t come with breakfast or a toothbrush.
The rooms are clean and affordable, and they accept credit cards.
