Hotel Bintang Tawangmangu

Good value for money, with clean, tidy rooms that are a decent size.

My family room was spacious and pretty good for a two-star hotel, and the price was affordable compared with nearby places. The scenery around the hotel wasn’t great, but I wouldn’t say it was bad either. There’s no AC, only a fan, though it stays fairly cool, especially at night. During my stay, the water heater was a bit unreliable. I think other guests have complained about that problem before too.

The hill view from my Deluxe room on the 4th or 5th floor was lovely, and the room had plenty of space. There’s a lift, plus slippers and toiletries. It’s an older hotel that’s being renovated, but the rate was economical and included breakfast. No AC, though the temperature stays around 15°C from midnight until dawn. Just a small thing: the room could be kept cleaner.

The staff were really humble and helpful, and I liked the food. The room was a letdown, though. The TV remote was a different brand from the TV, so I couldn’t use it, and one of the lightbulbs was dead. I posted photos from all sorts of angles because there isn’t much that catches your eye around the hotel. Hope management sees this and fixes those room issues soon. Thanks.
