It was peaceful, comfortable, and clean, so I could rest after a tiring day of activities. One drawback in the deluxe room type was the lack of a water heater for making a hot drink like tea or coffee.

There are several small supermarkets nearby, lots of warongs, and a market that runs every day on the next street over. Aikadi, a very good Japanese restaurant, is close by too, with a liquor store right across the road. KFC and McDonald's are about a ten-minute walk if you’re craving Nasi goreng or Mie goreng. The superior suite costs 400k per night without breakfast, and the 200x200 bed was comfortable. The shower was cold. My small balcony hadn’t been swept, and there were cigarette butts on the floor. Dust was left on the furniture. Having a window is a plus, since several similarly priced hotels in Kendari don’t have one. Noise was an issue, from mosques blaring through poor-quality speakers as well as mopeds and trucks on the road, including ones without exhaust pipes.
