Venus Inn Kendari

The staff are really friendly, and the room is clean and quiet. The price is low, but it doesn't feel cheap.

There are plenty of food vendors around, and with the hotel near campus, it's easy to find something to eat at night. They provide a basic breakfast, plus unlimited coffee and tea in the hallway. The bathroom has hot water, towels, soap, and shampoo. It's budget accommodation in Kendari, so don't expect many amenities. Standard rooms either have a bathroom outside the room or share one, while only deluxe rooms have an ensuite. I entered my deluxe room on the second floor and immediately felt nauseous because the cigarette smell was still very strong. Cleanliness needs work.

The TV picture is very clear, and the bathroom comes with liquid soap and shampoo. There's also a hot water dispenser outside the room, which is handy when you have a child. It's good value 👍 I often stay here when I'm bored at home, since my husband works in Mandonga. I usually book a double bed because I bring a child, but they put me on the 3rd floor, which is tiring.

There's a pantry where you can make coffee or instant noodles. I stayed a few days in a room with an outside toilet for 150k. The room was small but clean, and the AC was cool. The toilet water stopped flowing once, which was a jackpot 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫, but otherwise it was okay, and there was hot water.
