Zenith Hotel

It's near a food center, but I wouldn't recommend it at all. The bathroom floods, with lots of leaks coming from upstairs. The AC drips water into the room, and the hot water doesn't work. One elevator is broken and poorly maintained, and the lobby stairs are too high.

The one good meal I had was nasi goreng from room service. It arrived promptly and was delicious. The staff I met were all courteous and smiling, but that's about the only positive thing I can say. Agoda kept recommending this place, and I booked in a hurry. That was a mistake. My room was filthy, with mosquitoes, cockroaches, and ants crawling on the floor. The toilet and shower were moldy, and there was mold on the walls too. There was no toilet paper, although they did supply a toothbrush and water bottles. No towels were provided either. When I asked, they brought two mildew-smelling towels, one with several orange stains. The breakfast buffet was quite bad, and the fresh fruit tasted off. After a few minutes of research, I found several hotels in town with much higher standards for only a couple dollars more per night. I highly recommend looking for other options in Kendari.

Room service was incredibly fast, they showed up with my request literally one minute after I called. The bedroom was clean, though the bed creaked and was so light it shifted with a small push. The shower was terrible, with such a weak flow that it was hard to rinse off. Breakfast had very little variety, but that's normal for the price. You can ask the waiter for an egg.

The room was tidy, clean, and comfortable, and there were lots of breakfast options. The online transport drivers always dropped us by the roadside, so we had to climb a steep slope to get to the hotel entrance. On rainy days, the driver dropped us at the basement instead, and we just took a lift to our floor.
