For the price, this place was a real surprise. I wanted somewhere cheap and didn't expect such a spacious room in the middle of things. I stayed in two different rooms, both roomy, and even came back after being away for a couple days. They're clean but simple, with no luxuries, just a TV and refrigerator. My second room had a windowless bathroom with a bath, half open to the air, which I enjoyed. The rooms have air conditioning, so keeping cool wasn't a problem. The location is great, just off the city center. Shi Shi is nearby, while the nearest public beach takes a bit of a walk, which I didn't mind. There's a pool that was never really busy, and I got to know a few other visitors while relaxing there. Although the place is in the middle of the action, I had no noise issues because the resort sits back from the main street and the villas are away from traffic and pedestrians.

It was easy to hail gojek and grab, and the beach is just a short walk away with lots of restaurants nearby. The main pool was lovely and less crowded than at other hotels. Really great accommodation, and the staff were friendly.

The location is great, but this 'hotel' felt like a real waste of money. I know it's 3 stars, but I don't understand most of the reviews. My partner and I checked out just 4 hours after checking in because we were so appalled. At $55 a night, I guess you get what you pay for, which seems like almost nothing. The TV didn't work, the safe was broken, the toilet smelled, and the room door wouldn't close properly. The staff member at the counter was asleep at 1am, and nobody even asked for my partner's passport, which is normal when travelling in a group. The bed was dirty, stained, smelly, and covered in strands of hair. The list could go on, but I'll stop there. Two good things: we found a last minute hotel for the rest of our stay just a 2-minute walk away, and the food place connected to this hotel actually looks good, though kind of pricey for Bali.
