Villa Ruku-Ruku

We felt well looked after the whole time, and never felt pushed to spend extra. In fact, The Bali Agent talked us out of one tour because the places we wanted to see were close enough to the villa to visit on our own, so we did. We’re already planning another trip with them. My husband and I booked Villa Ruku Ruku through Homes by Marriott using points and stayed for four days. The Bali Agent arranged airport transport, dinner for our first night, an in-villa cooking class, massages, laundry, a full-day tour with a great guide, and help with our late departing flight. We arrived much later than expected, but they waited to reheat dinner and show us how everything worked. When a small issue came up one evening, someone came right over to fix it. The maid was so sweet and checked each day what time we wanted her to arrive. We also added the breakfast package. The villa works well for a couple. Personally, I wouldn’t suggest having extra guests sleep in the main living area because its curtains aren’t blackout. It was very private and quiet despite being a block from the road. The pool was well maintained and a welcome way to cool off in July, when it was hot but not unbearable. There were a few friendly geckos in the courtyard, which kept mosquitoes away, and we didn’t notice any other critters. A couple of cute eateries and convenience stores are walkable, while the main downtown area is about 10 minutes by taxi. Taxis and food delivery were easy to get.

Working from home at Ruku Ruku was great for me, thanks to the fast internet and quiet surroundings. It’s only a 3-5 minute drive to Seminyak, and the pool gets excellent sun, so it’s a perfect temperature day and night. The Bali Agent’s service was perfect as usual. I first lived here in 2016, before the major construction changes, and have been enjoying the villa again since late February 2018. The architect-designer did a stunning job. If you want a villa with a unique style and modern, luxurious design, this is a great fit.

The service was impeccable. The agent was happy to help with every request, from a travel adaptor to a breakfast that wasn’t on the menu. We’ve already recommended it to friends and family. The room is gorgeous, the air conditioning works really well, and the private pool feels as secluded as it gets. Being set back a little from the street kept the noise down. We found the location handy, just a few minutes by Gojek to Seminyak and Canggu. Try the pie place, pie society, and iced coffee at stock down the road. The massage place next door is also very bougie, with good prices.
