The view is beautiful, but flies are everywhere, so you won’t be able to lie out in the open. The bathroom is really bad and there isn’t enough hot water. Noise comes from all directions. Farmers start working with machines right next to the door at 6am, so you can’t sleep past then.

At Batur Panorama, we felt at home thanks to the friendly owners, who also run the hotel. The mountain views are breathtaking, and our room was spotless. I had a wonderful stay, and it really did feel like home away from home. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely stay, with kind staff and a bit of X-factor. The owners even gave us a complimentary ride to and from the hot springs by Lake Batur, where we had a nice lunch by the lake. The location is close to the trek starting point, which means you can set off a little later, though there aren’t many restaurants nearby. They can also arrange a trek or jeep tour for a good price, with excellent local guides. It’s a charming glamping-style place, with a good hot shower, lovely gardens, a pool, and comfortable seats for taking in the volcano views. Breakfast and dinner were decent but not spectacular, and the wait was long. There were flies around during our stay, though that wasn’t the accommodation’s fault. Just take precautions and don’t leave the door open.

Hello #Agoda, We stayed from Sept 21st to 23rd, 2024. The location is decent, with facilities nearby, and the owner was very helpful. Breakfast and lunch or dinner were served nicely, though breakfast options are limited to a pre-designed menu. The staff seemed untrained, and our room was filthy. We found bedbugs. When we reported them, they only changed the sheets, which wasn’t enough. The room and bathroom lighting was so poor it was practically impossible to find your way around at night. Since the hotel is next to a farm, there was also constant insect noise.

The villa faces the mountain and volcano through big windows, and it’s spacious, with two floors and a private pool. We stayed in the family villa at Batur Panorama for two nights. It’s a long way into Kintamani, but being on the quieter far side of Mt Batur felt worth the travel. The setting among nearby farms does mean there are lots of flies. The staff were attentive, and we could contact the owner on whatsapp. The bathroom smelled very foul, as another reviewer has mentioned, and the food was very average with few choices. Bring your own food or eat out in Kintamani if you can. The biggest problem was a rodent, maybe a mouse or rat, that came for our food the first night and scrambled around in the upstairs loft. We couldn’t sleep all night. Staff responded quickly, tried to close a hole, and set traps, but the villa is a bit run down and had lots of holes, so we knew the rodent was still inside. It returned to the kitchen the second night. More traps were set, and thankfully it was caught overnight, so we slept better. The villa needs repairs to close the holes and keep rodents from getting in. The owner was very apologetic and took us to a coffee plantation, which was fantastic. Staff also helped us get to Kintamani and back, since Gojek isn’t available there. That was lovely. The location is stunning, but bring your own food and hopefully you won’t have a rodent problem.
