My second child coughed all night, vomited twice, and asked to go home. Since it was late, I calmed him down, and thankfully he managed a few hours of sleep before morning. We ate breakfast around 7:45. It was delicious, but there were a lot of flies. Staff said that was because it’s an agricultural area. The food should have had a cover, or at least a tissue, to keep flies off. We had no other choice, so we tried to stay positive and ate. If I could turn back time, I wouldn’t have eaten it. We decided to stay just one night and head to Ubud. Around 12:30 noon after arriving there, my first child, who had been healthy and cheerful, suddenly got a fever, diarrhea, and vomiting. I first thought it was a cold, but things got worse and he started shivering. At 11:35 pm, I took him to the emergency room. Based on his symptoms, the doctor diagnosed GEA, most likely caused by bacterial contamination. Before booking a vacation stay, read the Google reviews first. This experience isn’t ours alone.
