La Pino Mount Batur and Hot Spring

They had my check-in recorded for the wrong date and couldn’t find my reservation, so I waited over 30 minutes while they prepared the room. The receptionist didn’t apologize or offer a drink. He kept blaming the previous shift. When I asked to leave the bill open because we planned to have dinner at the resort, he told me the restaurant was closed because they had no chef. Then I found out the pool was unavailable too. He said rudely, “If you would like to use those facilities, you can check in tomorrow.” This was my second stay, and the disappointment started right at check-in. No one tried to solve the problems or listen. At least a simple apology and information about nearby restaurants would have been better.

My first stay in 2025 was special. The glamping had just opened, the pool was clean and new, our room was clean, the staff were friendly, and all the restaurant dishes tasted good. This time was a bit off. The pool was dirty and mouldy, the bathroom damp, and the restaurant wasn’t open, they only served breakfast. Since it’s far from everywhere, make sure you know that ahead of time. The glamping and staff were still okay, by the way. Some guests seemed not to realize that the public pool is for everyone, not just them. They left their things all over, including dirty diapers and food, ate by the pool with plates, and even swam naked. Wow.

The room was just okay, and there was no room service. The shower couldn’t be adjusted. At least the only menu option, fried rice, was worth it, thank goodness. The included breakfast was different from the picture. Overall, not worth it.

At night you can hear crickets and wind moving through the trees, and it’s so peaceful. The tent was clean, comfortable, and had all the essentials. With lush forest all around, the glamping site makes it easy to feel close to nature. A perfect place to disconnect and recharge.
