Samsara Desa

The owners were so kind and did everything they could to help us. When we arrived, they brought us coffee, tea, and fried bananas. The garden and pool area is lovely and quiet, with fields all around, and watching the sunrise is definitely worth getting up for. We stayed in one of the brand-new wooden lodges. It was spotless, spacious, and really nice inside. This was the nicest place we've stayed in Bali so far, and everything was perfect. The only thing I'd mention is that there are lots of flies in the surrounding fields, which isn't the property's fault. We loved it and wish we'd stayed longer.

The owners were very attentive, and the views across the vegetable fields behind the property were lovely. Our room was comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed the banana fritters and pancakes too. We came for two nights hoping to do some rock climbing nearby, but realized we'd got the wet and dry seasons mixed up. It was much too wet, so we left early. Still, it was a lovely stay. Thank you.

The people were really nice and helpful, and I would have liked to rate the place higher. My main issue was how remote it is. Farming in the area brings a lot of flies, and eating at local warungs was annoying because everything seemed covered in them. Thankfully it wasn't as bad at night. The toilet is shared, which is fine by itself, but given the location and price, I don't think it's a great deal for Bali.

We stayed in the villa, which looked new and was nice and clean. There was a hot shower, plus water and coffee, and breakfast was nice with a few simple food choices. The host drove us to the Mt. Batur starting point and picked us up after the hike, which is nearby. A nice place to stay in Kintamani if you're going to climb the mountain. I'd recommend it and stay again.
