The Breezy Volcano

The view is amazing and definitely good for photos, but I couldn’t really enjoy my stay and spent most of the time inside the room. The access road isn’t car friendly unless you’re in a jeep, and the flies are a natural disaster. Almost the whole Kintamani area seems to have the same problem. Water pressure was low too. There aren’t many food options, so you have to go into the city on a rough road.

A perfect getaway with everything needed there. The villa and gardens were beautifully clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. There’s ample parking for cars and bikes. The view is breathtaking, and the staff are excellent, friendly, and helpful. The room is well equipped with a fridge and a kettle, plus tea and coffee. The restaurant food is very good, and they take care to cover it from flies when delivering it. Breakfast was good too. I worried the road might be difficult after reading other reviews, but it wasn’t bad at all. The incline was average at most for that part of Bali. My one suggestion to the owners: put U-bends in the bathroom sinks to stop smells coming into the rooms. I filled the sink, which stopped it.

It’s quiet and peaceful, so it could work really well if you’re a digital nomad who needs to work. The rooms are very good, and the staff are the best feature: extremely helpful, and they didn’t mess anything up. They found guides and drivers for us, including for our sunrise hike. We left Breezy at 3:30 and arrived in good time for a lovely sunrise. It wasn’t the AllTrails route, but a different path going straight up from Breezy. The pool is small, with only four loungers, and the water is cold, not a hot spring. It can be refreshing in the middle of the day, but don’t expect heated water. Flies make it hard to hang around the pool, and they’re relentless. Dinner choices are very limited, with even fewer drinks and snacks. Breakfast wasn’t so bad. For food and drinks, the best option is down the hill at Toteme. The reviews need a reality check.

The room was spacious and super comfortable, and the location was stunning, with an unbeatable view across the lake beneath Mt Batur. The owners and staff were brilliant. Their thoughtful help made everything feel easy, including sorting out meals and hike guides. My partner, my son, and I all loved staying at The Breezy Volcano. I can’t recommend it more, and we can’t wait to come back!
