The Dewi Kintamani

The setting is quiet and the views are lovely, which is why my wife and I chose this place. Our room was comfortable enough for a rest, but the private pool was a letdown. The listing said the water would be heated. Front office staff explained it was only kept at a neutral temperature so it wouldn't feel too cold, rather than being hot. That didn't match what we expected from the description. Getting there was another problem. The access road is in very poor shape and unpleasant to drive on. I wonder why the properties in the area don't work together to repair it. Our car was damaged on the way back, which spoiled the stay. There were also lots of flies while we were there. Maybe it was seasonal, but it was still disturbing.

The peaceful setting and location near the sunrise viewpoint were a big plus. My room was clean and comfortable, with a lovely view of Mount Batur. The staff were kind and helpful from check-in through check-out. I had a wonderful stay at The Dewi Kintamani, and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kintamani! 🌸✨

The sound from speakers was a problem on all three days, with loud booming waking me in the morning and making it hard to sleep. On the first night there was also a faint sewage smell that got so bad by bedtime that I couldn't sleep. I moved rooms on day two. That room had no smell, but its pool wasn't working, and the morning noise woke me again. The sulphur pool needs attention too. Many tiles were loose and plenty were missing, leaving sharp edges that could cut you, so be careful. Breakfast was free at 8, but when we arrived at 8:30 there was nothing left. We tried bread with some leftover sauce, but the bread was hard and chewy. Dinner was mixed. The stir-fried vegetables I had on the first night were tasty and cooked well, while my friend's beef soup had meat he couldn't cut with his knife. On the second night I ordered the same vegetables, but they were tasteless and mushy. We were glad to finally leave, tired and drained. I'll tell friends in Bali about the experience. I wouldn't go back, especially at that price.

The view was lovely, and the room was nice. Breakfast was really good, and the food at Dor Restaurant tasted great. A note for management: each suite should have a door, which would give guests more privacy. Everything else was very nice. I'll definitely come back.
