Amazing Kuta Hotel

For a budget stay, the accommodation was wonderful. We had a suite with its own washroom, as shown in the picture, and the staff were really friendly. There’s a pool, and each room has its own outdoor seating area. Those spots aren’t a shared public space, they belong to the individual rooms.

The photos on Booking made the place look much nicer than it was in person. I booked three nights and tried to cancel two, but they charged me for both of those nights, even though Booking showed I should only pay for one. There are other hotels in the same price range that look better and are much better maintained.

When I stayed in the female dorm last year, it was clean and the location was good. This time it wasn’t clean, the room smelled bad, and staff hadn’t changed the sheets or pillowcases. The location is still good and the price is cheap, but I’m not sure I’d choose to come back.

If you don’t mind seeing a new cockroach each day and you’re short on cash, you could stay here. During my week in a private room, $1,000 in Taiwanese money and $100 from the United States went missing, even though I had locked my bag and the room.
