Anema Villa Seminyak

We booked one night, but left about two hours in and found somewhere else to stay. The bed had a very strong fragrance, like some kind of spray, and it was giving both me and my partner a headache. The pool was cloudy so we couldn't use it, and after rain we had to wade through deep puddles because there was no drainage beside the pool area. We were told we'd get a refund, but each person we contacted sent us on to someone else. In the end, nobody responded and we got no refund. We're unhappy with the whole experience.

Worst place in Bali. I wouldn't recommend this villa to anyone. It wasn't cleaned at all. There was always one guy smoking there, like a shit. No room service, no clean water in the pool, and if we ordered food, they wouldn't prepare it. They abused clients. My three guests were abused yesterday, and now the staff are putting on a drama. My guests left before their four nights were up, after just one night. There was no safety for clients' belongings.

The location felt dangerous and was badly lit, with men lurking in the shadows. The pool was half empty. At 1am we had to change rooms because the lights wouldn't turn off, then were told the replacement room was booked and had to move again by 10am. We checked out and found real accommodation.

The staff were great, which made it odd to see what seemed like some kind of meltdown from the owner or manager while she was speaking French, I think, to the staff as we checked out. The room didn't match the photos because of flooding, and could do with an upgrade. There was no TV or air-con in the kitchen/living room, so that space got very hot.
