Antara Villas

We had 14 people across all three villas, one with four bedrooms and two with two bedrooms, and had plenty of room. Each place has its own kitchen, dining and lounge space, ensuite bathrooms, pool, daybed and loungers. The two smaller villas connect through a door, which was handy when we wanted to visit each other, or close off for some privacy. We usually gathered at the four-bedroom villa for its pool table and open area. The staff and cleaning were great, and we felt looked after. There are daytime attendants, plus a night security guard outside the locked gate. Laundry across the road took three hours for washing, drying and folding, and they even delivered it to our villas once. Shops, cafes and massage places are a short walk away. We liked Karla for massages. Kuta's busy nightlife is about a 10-minute ride. We'll definitely stay here again.

The villa was clean and tidy, and the pool table was a nice extra, but the air conditioning made this a terrible stay. It kept turning off every two hours throughout all three nights. The first night I woke up four times, sweaty and exhausted. The controller's other functions didn't work either, including the timer setting. They repaired it the next day and the room cooled down at first, but the problem came back and we kept waking up to turn it on again. We had two nights of broken sleep with nowhere to get away from the heat and mosquitoes outside. On the third night they offered us a room in another villa. I appreciated the offer, but moving and unpacking all our things was a huge hassle. I finally slept, then woke up feeling sick from the stress. On day four I had to use my friends' room to rest and was still very unwell. I hope tonight, my last night here, is at least bearable. My room was the worst of the four. The other bathrooms looked stylish and comfortable. Mine was the only twin room, and its shower had no curtain or screen, so water splashed everywhere and made the floor very slippery. The staff were responsive and helpful, but the air conditioning issue overshadowed everything. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Everything was close, either on foot or a short taxi ride, and the driver they recommended, Wayan, made my family and me feel safe on Bali's chaotic roads. It was our first visit to Bali and the most enjoyable holiday we've ever had. The facilities were great, and the staff were amazing and very helpful. Bangbang, the manager, was easy to reach and made sure we had what we needed. We'd definitely stay again.

We had all three villas for our family last week. They were lovely, and the staff were really helpful. It's centrally located, so getting around on foot or by taxi was easy. For the price, it was fabulous.
