Balisandy Resort

It’s only just passable overall, and might suit tourists who want somewhere quiet. The location is hard to reach, tucked well inside a narrow lane, though cars, Grab bikes, and cabs can get in. There’s no lift. I’d give accessibility 2/5. The staff were polite and spoke English, but coordination was lacking, so 4/5 for staff. Cleanliness gets 3/5: the stair tiles are broken, furniture on the sides is damaged, and there’s a garbage dump right by the resort name. Breakfast was very ordinary, and what other meals? Calling this a resort feels like a stretch. There’s no room service, vegetarian menu, in-house laundry, or mosquito repellent or machine. The AC wasn’t sufficient, and ordering is possible from 10 am to 4 pm, but even getting water after that is difficult. There aren’t enough charging points in the room. To use the electric kettle, you have to take it to the bedside night lamp. Horrible.

A beautiful hotel for what it costs, and probably the cheapest one around. The location is awesome, right in the middle of everywhere. The staff were amazingly friendly and ready to help 24/7. I’d recommend it for a short or long stay.

The location is convenient, but the hotel needs to communicate facility closures more clearly and respond better to guests. I hope management reviews what happened and improves things for future visitors. I stayed at Bali Sandy Resort for three nights, expecting to use the swimming pool. Only after check-in did I learn it was under construction, and there had been no notice when I booked. The construction noise also made it hard to relax. On top of that, the power went out at night for several tens of minutes, and the Wi-Fi was unstable during my stay. I contacted Booking.com, and eventually got a refund for two nights. But the front desk response was unpleasant. I’d paid by credit card and asked for the refund back to that card. They said they could only refund cash in Indonesian rupiah, and told me to exchange it into Japanese yen myself if needed. There was no discount for the noise and no apology for the inconvenience. I’m from Japan, where people usually don’t complain publicly very often. This was a very disappointing experience, and I hope other travellers don’t go through the same thing.

The garden and pool are beautiful, and the air conditioning kept the room cool. This is an older hotel that’s being renovated. It could use some updates, but it was clean and accommodating overall.
