Bedrock Hotel Kuta Bali

The rooms were okay, and the central location was the one good thing for me. Wi-Fi was so bad, or completely down, that I couldn't work, call anyone or do anything online. Breakfast had a limited selection that was the same each day, and the milk was watered down. I got food poisoning after breakfast one day. Half the gym equipment was broken and unusable. Definitely wouldn't recommend it.

The location is all right, with small shops and local food places around, and it's not far from the beach or shopping centres. It's also close to the airport. If you're only staying a night, it may do, but I wouldn't come back. The hotel needs a big refresh. There was painting going on, but the style still felt very old. My room looked okay but smelled, the TV didn't work, and there was no USB charging port. I had to charge through the TV, which took all night. I didn't have a view, but I hadn't paid much, so I can't complain about that. There isn't really a pool, and the breakfast was bad enough that I'd save the money and eat out.

People greeted us with a big smile and opened the door when we arrived. Whenever I needed anything, the staff were kind and ready to help. The rooms came with packaged toothbrushes, soap, toothpaste, shower gel and shampoo. Bedrock is handy for Kuta amenities, and we walked to everything, including Waterbom park and Kuta beach. They offer a breakfast buffet, cheap massages, sheisha and a swimming pool. Thanks for dressing up at Christmas and making it more memorable for those who celebrate.

The staff were nice and friendly, as people in Bali usually are, but everything else was awful. The hallways smelled skunky, there was dust everywhere, and the bed and curtains had weird stains. The air conditioning was extremely poor. Don't be taken in by the photos or the outside appearance. You get what you pay for, I guess. I wonder what kind of hotels the people rating this place above three stars have stayed in. This was the dirtiest, most disgusting and horrible hotel I've ever experienced. I first stayed here 20 years ago, on my first trip to Bali, and booked again because I wanted to revisit those childhood memories. I should've listened to the honest reviews warning about the red flags. Some memories are better left alone.
