Simpang Inn Hotel

Thanks especially to Puspa at reception. I visited before check-in because the room type on my Agoda booking wasn’t clear, and she took it on herself to sort it out by the time I checked in. She showed me the groundfloor room herself, and I was also able to switch easily to one with better WiFi. Some rooms have been renovated. I felt welcome and hope to visit again. 🙏

The management’s response was the worst part: they said this was all they could offer and guests just had to put up with missing clean towels or an unclean room. Reception was rude when I reported disturbances in the corridor at 3am every day. I had to change rooms five times. One room had a clogged drain, and the next was infested with roaches. This was the worst 3star hotel I’ve ever stayed in, worse than a motel. It doesn’t deserve a star rating.

Maybe I just got unlucky with the room, but that was my worst night in Bali, even though I hadn’t expected much at that price. It smelled bad, and the AC didn’t work, so the room stayed horribly humid. The towels and sheets were old, damp, and smelly too. Reception were nice, though. I asked to move from the 3rd floor to the 1st and they did.

The location is a strong point, right in central Kuta and around a 10-15 minute walk from the beach and mall. The room was spacious and the AC worked well. The pool was nice, but there wasn’t much sun on the loungers during the day. The shower temperature changed with the slightest adjustment, and the water pressure was very low. At check-in, our room had mold on the walls and holes in the blankets. The staff were nice and moved us to an okay room without mold when we asked. It’s a “you get what you pay for” place. It does the job, but it isn’t any kind of luxury resort.
