Budget Door Legian Inn

I showed up for my one-night booking through the OYO website, and the guy at reception said the online price was wrong. He wanted the full amount in cash, plus extra, so I walked away expecting OYO to refund me through its site. I was wrong. Just utter BS from them too. Avoid like the plague.

The owner asked me to cancel, saying the online price was too low. The rooms were small, very dirty, and smelled bad. Worst hotel in Bali. Tourists, don't stay there, ever.

The owners were friendly and gave useful information, and the location is handy for the price. The AC worked, phone reception was fine, and the Wi-Fi worked, though it wasn't very stable. Towels and soap were clean, and there was parking for cars and bikes right in front of each room. The photos don't match what you get, so don't expect too much. The bathroom was dirty, there was no hot water, and the shower and bucket were broken, so bathing with a scoop felt like going back in time. Maintenance was poor, and basic things like soap and a toothbrush and toothpaste weren't provided. The cabinet was broken and had no mirror. It looked like it hadn't been repaired in ages, which was kind of creepy. The TV was broken too, with half the picture black.

The area was quiet and peaceful, and the balcony chair was comfortable, with a nice, warm view. I went out there to get away from the awful smell in the room. The staff member tried to help and showed me another room, but it had two beds I didn't need and smelled strongly of smoke. He couldn't fix the problem either. The smell from the toilet was there all day. I opened the window and main door, but it still made my throat hurt and gave me a headache. The sheets smelled too, and one side of the bed had a smell like someone had vomited, so I had to lie on the other side. The foot towel was already wet and hadn't been changed. The towels looked like mops, and the room was dusty and dirty enough to make me feel sick. The house is old, I understand that, but it could still be cleaned or fixed. AC worked well, but that didn't matter with the smell constantly around. Please keep the place aired out, mold and dust are toxic. Aww.
