dBeds Kuta Beach

Dbeds Kuta was super comfortable for my three-night stay. The room was clean and cozy, and the beach was only a short walk away. Check the other reviews for reference.

The three-bed dorm looked cute and roomy when I arrived, and having a kitchen was a nice bonus. But by around 1 a.m., a strong basement-like damp smell had become hard to ignore. I checked the room and saw mould across the ceiling and around the air conditioning, so I barely slept. I was already stressed and worried about other solo backpackers ending up in the same situation. I told reception first thing in the morning. They were friendly and tried to help, but the other rooms they showed me on the first and second floors had the same heavy damp, mould-like smell. I decided to leave, and they wouldn't refund me. When Agoda contacted them about a refund, they said I'd left because the room had no window. I had asked whether a room with a window was available for better airflow, but that wasn't why I checked out. I left because of the severe damp, mould, and smell, which I felt posed a serious health risk. I can't afford to pay for accommodation I'm no longer using. I emailed the hostel/hotel and got no response, which left me feeling that the owner or manager didn't care about guests' safety or comfort. After about 24 hours of negotiating, Agoda got me a 20% refund, but that doesn't cover the cost of my new accommodation. Severely disappointing.

The bedroom had such a strong mould smell that my body started feeling irritated. Please sort that out, because the rooms and cleanliness otherwise would've earned five stars. It could've been a lovely place.

I couldn't sleep comfortably with mosquitoes filling the room, and the sheets hadn't been changed. My stay at this hotel near Kuta Beach was disappointing. I wouldn't recommend it unless they deal with those problems.
