Homestay Rumahku

I wouldn't call this a hotel. RUMAHKU BALI EXECUTIVE has a strange setup: every room is managed and hosted separately by its own owner. I booked through Booking.com, where it was listed as "RBE Hotel Kuta- 5 Min to Airport&Beach by Micky Studio." My host was Rocky, but he wasn't on site, and there was no staff there for my room. The staff who were present said they weren't responsible for it, so they wouldn't help with requests. My room wasn't ready at check-in. Although it was empty, someone arrived late to clean it after the previous guests. During my five-day stay, staff only came on the first day, late, and just to clean. The other staff on site wouldn't get the room ready. The room was poorly maintained. They seemed to have changed the sheets and linen superficially, and swept once. Nearly everything was broken or didn't work. The clothes shelf was old, bent wood, and had no door. The bathroom door had mold, there were cockroaches, and it smelled bad. There was no toilet paper. I asked the owner for some and was told it would be sent, but it came late, then nothing. Nobody showed up or contacted me again. Body wash was left on the toilet tank, with nowhere to put it in the shower. The bidet leaked, the toilet seat was broken, and the shower had weak water pressure and a head blocked with salt deposits. There was no hand soap by the basin, and the mirror faced away from it, making it useless for washing my face or trimming or shaving. The room was advertised with a flat-screen TV despite the higher price, but the TV didn't work. The property is down a narrow lane that only self-driven motorbikes can reach. Not worth the money.

There was a bad drain smell outside the room, and the building felt very old. The bathroom and toilet were slippery and unhygienic, there were no bins in the room, and no drinking water was provided. There's nowhere to park a car either. The staff service was very poor. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The staff were so kind and helpful. The owner and her friend even gave me a lift to the mall so I could get a birthday present for my friend. The hostel is lovely, close to the airport, Kuta, and the beach, and good value.

The rooftop lounge has space to cook, and the lobby plays good music. The Wi-Fi is decent, and the atmosphere is nice. Everyone on staff provided good service. A good place to stay in Bali, 5 stars for Rumahku Bali Executive.
