Olea Villas Resort

I had a wonderful time at Olea, though I can understand why some people felt differently. We stayed in Villa 4 for 4 nights. The room was beautiful, with a pool and tub, and I went swimming almost every day. Staff were really nice and helpful. They cleaned while we were out, and even made a penguin out of towels, which was pretty cool. The location was amazing. It was an easy bike ride down to Kuta, without having to stay right in the busy part, and an easy way out toward Mawun, Selong Belanak side. You also get a free gym membership at Xeno and free classes during your stay. There are things they could improve, mostly maintenance and repainting. Insects like ants and bugs are around, but it's close to a jungle, so that's normal on an island. Monkeys come around 5-7pm, probably because there's some kind of fruit tree for them to nibble on. Just don't leave food outside to be safe. Sometimes there's a bit of a damp smell. I bought candles for the room and lemongrass incense sticks for outside, and that was a small fix. For the price, having your own privacy and a private pool is definitely worth it. I'd recommend Olea for a great stay. I know I had one!

I loved falling asleep to the jungle sounds and waking up to birds. The internet worked well for remote work, and breakfast was tasty and generous for a fair price. The staff were friendly, always ready to help, and smiling. My room was clean and tidy when I arrived. I did spot some ants, but in a forest setting I didn't mind; I just didn't get lucky enough to see any monkeys, which would've been fun. Renting a scooter was cheap, and it was about a three-minute drive to the city centre and gym. Special mention to the gym facilities. The whole stay at Olea Villas was awesome. Thanks to the team for doing such a good job. I'll be back next year!

The rooms, service, and location were all nice, but the experience was ruined by the construction site beside our villa. Stray dogs were living there and started howling at 1 am, then kept going until 6 am without a break.

The villa looked much nicer in the pictures than it did in person. The sheets were stained, there were insects inside and out, and leaves were scattered around, including in the pool. They also charged a lot for everything. Even a ride to the centre, only a three-minute drive away, cost 5 euros, and breakfast was modest and nothing special. I booked a villa with a mountain view, but when I arrived they said another guest had switched into the one meant for me. They put me in a much smaller villa tucked away in a corner with no view. They offered a complimentary night for the inconvenience. I was there to make drone content for them, but the trees around the replacement villa meant I couldn't fly my drone. I also asked to film breakfast, which they agreed to provide, but it wasn't special and my coffee arrived cold. The next day, before my scheduled checkout, they texted me a bill that included the night they'd said was free because of the villa change. I explained the mistake, and the staff member called it a possible misunderstanding but said I should pay. They insisted, even though this was a villa I hadn't chosen and where it was almost impossible to make the content we'd agreed on. I said I'd rather leave. They had me carry my suitcase up four big stairs, and I still had to pay for my scooter for the whole day even though it was already halfway through the day. I personally had a bad experience here.
