Premium Legian

On a late-night check-in, I walked into a lobby full of people smoking and playing cards. I thought they were guests, but they turned out to be staff. One of them served me while smoking. That was disgusting and completely unprofessional, with no basic hospitality standards. Things got worse when I was taken to a room without being given a key because they said none was available. The AC didn't work at all, and the room was filthy, damaged, and clearly neglected. The TV was broken, and nothing seemed maintained, as the photos show. The place is run with no respect for guests. The service was careless and irresponsible, and this was one of the worst check-ins I've had. I'm extremely angry and disappointed. I expect this to be taken seriously and dealt with immediately.

I've stayed here twice and was happy with it. The room is spacious, quiet at night, and the AC works well. It's a budget hotel in a good spot, about a 10-minute walk to Legian beach and also to Sentral Pakir Kuta bus terminal. From there, you can take the Trans Metro Dewata public bus, which is very cheap, only Rp4.4k for any trip, no matter the distance. On my second stay I had room 102, with a big street-facing window. It looked better than room 107, but was noisier. Good news, they now provide hot shower water, towels, and Wi-Fi in the lobby. Some complaints in earlier reviews are true: there's no elevator, drinking water, or breakfast, and there's no Wi-Fi in the room. The bedsheets had some black spots. But for the price, these things weren't such a big problem for me. They ask for a Rp100k deposit for the room key, refunded when you check out. Reception isn't open 24 hours, so if you're leaving early in the morning, say before 9 am, you may need to arrange it with them in advance.

The staff were really kind and helpful. I had a large bag, and they quickly carried it up to the third floor without complaining. The room itself was spacious, airy, and comfortable, and for the price it was good value. It's a pity the place isn't maintained well. The elevator was out of order, the stairs and hallway were dusty, and the lights kept glitching. There was black mold on the ceiling and dusty, moldy, damp patches around the room. The sheets had stains, the TV didn't work, and there was no free mineral water, toiletries, or Wi-Fi. On the second floor, the doors use manual keys, and having to ask staff to open the door every time was really inconvenient.

I checked in at 1 am and was so, so sad that I couldn't get my money back. The hotel wasn't worth it. I'm sorry, but the receptionist told me everything as it was: the AC was bad and the room was bad. Please do something to make the experience better, because people deserve at least what your catalog prices promise. Thanks.
