Puri Bunga Inn

We had a very bad experience. The owner treated us badly and behaved inappropriately. The room itself was good, but there was no service and the Wi-Fi didn’t work. While in Bali, I’d suggest people book through Traveloka and make sure to choose a professional hotel instead of this small place, which has no professionalism.

We never made it because flight delays left us stuck in K.L. At 11:30 at night we tried calling Puri Bunga Inn, since we needed another room in addition to our booking, but no one answered. Tired and needing help that late, we went to the quest that could help us with two rooms.

Getting here by car isn’t easy, since the property is down a small alley. When we arrived, the room smelled damp and old. Water dripped from the ceiling into the toilet bowl, and the cupboard and table were dusty. There wasn’t a power outlet near the bed, and a strange locked door stood by the toilet. The decor felt very old and creepy. If you’re sensitive to a third entity, I’d suggest staying elsewhere. Soon after checking in, we felt an uncomfortable presence coming from that locked door, and a blood smell seemed to appear from nowhere. We checked out within an hour.

Puri Bunga Inn was a pleasant surprise. The manager is a very good man, speaks English, and helps with transport or any advice you need. Staff are friendly. Rooms have a TV, AC, hot and cold water, and are non-smoking. Wi-Fi is poor, though, and only works outdoors. There’s a small table, chairs, and an ashtray just outside the room door. For this standard, it’s very affordable, even cheap, especially for monthly rentals. I’d recommend it for a longer stay or a short stop if you arrive late, since it’s only five minutes from the airport. They can provide a car if needed. Nearby, there are local warung for local food and small shops selling coffee, cold drinks, cigarettes, and more. There’s no stress about payment, though the usual courtesy and local custom is to pay right away. A good choice if you’re not after a luxury or expensive hotel.
