Puri Damai Boutique Hotel

We were left scrambling for a room during high season, and it cost us an extra $1000 for the week. We’d booked about four weeks earlier by email, since there’s no online booking system, and confirmed again on the day we arrived. Still, after a late flight, they said they had no reservation for us. They sent us to another hotel for the first two nights at top prices, promising we could move back to Puri after two days. When I showed up, there was no booking and the hotel was full. It’s a lovely place with nice reception staff, and I’d normally recommend it, but the person handling bookings made this the worst experience I’ve had dealing with a hotel. Be warned.

The gardens and adults-only pool made it easy to unwind, with a quiet feel away from the beach bustle. My room was clean and comfortable, with good air conditioning, an en suite bathroom, and an outdoor space opening off it. That area had a kitchen, dining table and chairs, plenty of comfy seats, and an overhead fan. Losman Hotel is in a handy spot in Legian, Bali, with cafes and shops a short walk away and the beach easy to reach. I also felt safe walking around the grounds at night. The staff were welcoming from the start, and Intan, the front desk manager, was especially friendly and quick to sort out any issues. The whole team was helpful. I had a lovely stay and would recommend it to anyone after a peaceful place that’s still close to things.

Already booked again for 2025 after a fabulous three weeks here. It has the Bali feel we love, with lovely gardens, a pool, and boutique villas that come with a kitchen, lounge, balcony or relaxing area, and a separate lockable bedroom with an en-suite and safe. Shops and restaurants are close by, and the beach is a four-minute walk down a lane. Owner Ayu and the staff were so friendly, attentive, and efficient. A must to visit!

The peaceful gardens look lovely from the comfortable apartment balconies, and the apartments are spacious and well equipped. It’s an easy stroll down the nearby lane to the beach and restaurants. Puri Damai has the authentic Balinese style I was looking for, and the friendly staff were always around to help make the stay a good one. Thanks again, Ayu Intan and all the staff.
