Puri Naga Beachfront Cottages

We left the next day because the stay was so disappointing. The rooms themselves were adequate, but the shower taps were corroded and barely had any pressure, and brown, sediment-filled water came from the taps. There was nobody around when we arrived. The electrical socket seemed dodgy, and the TV was ancient. Wouldn’t recommend it.

For the price I paid, this was fantastic. The place is old and a bit run-down, right down to an old-school bottle opener fixed to the wall, but it’s by the beach and close to everything. My room was huge and clean, with new air conditioning that worked cold. The shower could use an upgrade. I hardly saw anyone else staying there, which made me wonder why. It was quiet and really peaceful. Service is limited, but the staff were nice and helpful. Maybe all the negative reviews are from Karens!

When we stayed here two months ago, the run-down condition was hard to miss. The pool had broken tiles, and the room furniture had seen better days. There was noticeable mould and a strong mildew smell. When we raised complaints, the staff seemed to treat them as a joke instead of dealing with them. We were very disappointed and didn’t have a pleasant stay.

The garden and pool area are lovely places to relax, and the hotel is right by the beach, bars, and restaurants. Our room was spacious and very good, with air conditioning, a fridge, and a lovely balcony. The staff were friendly, cleaned the room well, and even the pillows smelled lovely. They also offer luggage storage. The bed was uncomfortable, though, and I’d recommend replacing the mattress. Some things, like the plugs and doors, are old, but the place felt safe. A building next door is under construction, but there was no work going on while we were there, or we simply didn’t hear it. The view didn’t bother us because the garden below was beautiful and somewhere we could relax and enjoy ourselves.
