Sarinande Hotel

The room was spacious, though quite old, and the hotel itself is showing its age, with some amenities in poor condition. Still, the stay was nice. The morning after checkout I realized my AirPods Pro were missing. I’m certain they should have been in the room because I hadn’t used them outside, only for remote work or otherwise. I went back, but they said they hadn’t seen anything left behind. Maybe someone took them without me noticing, since I can no longer see them in Find My. I’m not accusing anyone without evidence, and I know it was my fault for not noticing I’d left them. I just hope the staff are honest, and I’d appreciate help investigating.

The hotel is very quiet and about 150m from the beach. The lane leading to it gets quite dark at night, though shops and scooter rentals are around 600m away. There are swimming pools with shallow and deep sections, plus spa and massage services. You can get a 10% discount from the counter for those. I tried a warm stone massage and foot reflexology. They were more deep-pressure than relaxing, but I felt good afterwards. We spent three nights in a Super Deluxe Twin Room. It was spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable, and housekeeping came daily. The lighting was quite dim, so brighter lights would have been welcome. There was a mini refrigerator and TV, though we mostly just slept in the room. The bathroom was spotless, with hot and cold showers, and I liked the wide counter for makeup and toiletries. A kettle and complimentary drinks were provided. The tap water tasted a little salty, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. There was a slight odd smell when flushing the toilet, the same thing we had at our previous hotel in Ubud, so maybe that’s just Bali plumbing. A comfortable stay with friendly staff, good facilities, and a handy spot near the beach.

The hotel is older, and there was quite a bit of scooter noise at night. The pool was a little dirty, but I still enjoyed it. The beach is so close, which was lovely for sunset walks. Staff were kind and helpful, letting me check in early and leave my bags after checkout before my flight.

We came back to Sarinande for our second stay, the first one was in 2016. It’s a lovely small hotel in a great location and at a great price. The rooms are a bit old but spacious and comfortable, and the staff are delightful and always around when needed. It doesn’t have the flash of the new places or the feel of a big chain, and that’s something I think is worth supporting. If you want to experience old school Bali, I’d encourage you to give it a go.
