Seminyak Town House

I booked three nights and left after only three hours. I tried negotiating a 50-75% refund, but they couldn't agree. I wish I'd checked the Google Maps reviews first. The place felt abandoned. The pool was dirty with lots of flies, and the old building had peeling paint. Dust, a filthy gazebo with cigarette ash and food crumbs, and a dark hallway that looked like a creepy hospital corridor made a bad impression. The room had an old floor, and the table, mirror frame, and closet were broken. The curtains looked awful and had mold. The bedcovers seemed clean, but once I lay down, my skin got so itchy that I think there were bedbugs. The toilet and living room were stuffy too. The hotel asks for a deposit and lists 70 in fines for damaged room amenities, which made sense to me given how old and fragile everything seemed. It also has a no-cancellation, no-refund policy, and the hotel doesn't seem to sell out much. This ruined my holiday.

I stayed five nights and had to change units three times because the rooms smelled bad. The bedroom ceiling leaked, the air conditioner leaked, and there were other odd problems. The bathroom smelled of pee, like it wasn't being maintained or cleaned. I wouldn't recommend staying here in the rainy season because the place floods.

The Wi-Fi had only one or two bars in nearly the whole unit, except for one room, and it kept disconnecting or not working at all. The rooms smelled of urine and mold, with mold growing on the hallway ceilings. When we arrived, the door handle was coming off, so we had to ask them to replace it because the door could simply be pushed open. They also had to fix the sink, which was coming loose. Outside, the wood platform by the gazebo was in such bad shape that it needed replacing and felt dangerous. Room service stopped coming, so we had to ask for water, towels, toilet paper, and service. I assume it was because my family drank the four bottles of water provided each day. One staff member went out of her way to be kind and helpful, and I wanted to tip her. But when I couldn't find the deposit receipt, the staff member I checked in with refused to return the deposit. I apologized to her and said they were stealing her money, then left her a tip away from the other staff. Even at the price we paid, it was overpriced. Don't stay here.

Things got worse by the hour. The rooms smelled, and they seemed to slope to one side. I ordered bottled water, but nobody brought it. The Wi-Fi stopped working at night. Come here if you want to regret it.
