Suji Bungalow

We had a good stay in a nice deluxe room, and the location and peaceful atmosphere were both good. The one downside was that people on the upstairs balcony could see into the washroom. There’s no privacy, such a dumb design.

The birds in the morning and the laid-back atmosphere were our favorite parts of the two nights we spent here. It’s as beautiful as the photos suggest. A few small things could be improved: put covers on all the bare light bulbs in the rooms, provide one or two hair dryers for guests who need them, and get the Wi-Fi working well enough for a simple WhatsApp call.

The staff were lovely. When I arrived late at night, the person at the front desk even went out to buy beer for me. I really enjoyed my nine days here. It’s an authentic Balinese stay in traditional bungalows across spacious grounds, and you’d never guess you were in the middle of Kuta. The pool is lovely and cleaned daily, though it can get warm during the day because it isn’t very deep. Breakfast is basic, as you’d expect at this price. The place isn’t luxurious, but the beach, laundry, restaurants, and new Beachside shopping mall are all a quick walk away. The mall pretty much replaces Kuta Mall as a shopping destination.

The bungalow itself was nice, and the location is excellent with lots of good places to eat nearby. The staff are lovely too. Our room only had a ceiling fan, though, and it just moved the hot, humid air around, so we weren’t very comfortable.
