Sun Island Hotel & Spa Kuta

The food was decent enough, though the choices were limited to Indonesian cuisine and a few Indian dishes. There was no cold-cut section or continental spread, so it might not suit everyone. Aside from that, everything was fantastic. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well set up, and the service was top notch. With the property on the main road, beaches and Waterbom Waterpark are among the activities nearby.

We'd booked two nights, but left after just one. The breakfast the next morning was so poor we couldn't eat anything, and the noise from the pool area had made it hard to rest. There seemed to be only one staff member covering everything, from carrying bags and checking us in to showing us to our room. He was doing his best, but the hotel clearly seemed understaffed. It didn't meet our expectations.

We often stay in South Kuta and chose Sun Island this time, but we won't be coming back. Our room was acceptable and kept clean, though nothing special. Three stars would be generous, and it certainly doesn't feel like a four-star hotel. It's a basic place with basic amenities, likely better for people on a tight budget who don't expect much variety at breakfast or a bar that stays open all day.

We stayed for 5D and had a comfortable, enjoyable time at Baki. The breakfast was delicious, the pool area relaxing, and the hotel had a warm atmosphere that reflected Bali's rich culture. Everything a tourist might need, from restaurants and shops to money changers, was only a short walk away in the heart of Kuta. Ms Yeni at the front office was especially welcoming, always greeting us with a cheerful smile. We'd gladly return and recommend the hotel.
