Villa Mason 2

Had a fab time with my girlfriends. The garden is lovely and peaceful, and the beautiful pool was very welcome on hot days. The villa was clean and comfortable, and the staff were always happy to help. Shopping and food are close by, and the host was easy to deal with and really helpful. I’d definitely stay again. Just a note, some photos show the villa next door.

The pool was clean, and the gardens were beautiful, with a pond containing fish and turtles. But the rooms weren’t clean, and the outdoor kitchen was dirty and unusable. There was no laundry despite it being advertised, and squirrels were nesting in the bedroom ceilings. People also came and went through the property’s gardens. Since the kitchen and living areas are outside, that made us feel vulnerable. The facilities were poor and the place was dirty. I’d recommend staying somewhere else.

The cleaning staff were friendly, but the villa’s condition was disgusting. The cutlery and crockery were too unsanitary to use, there was no washing machine as advertised, and the water would be shut off at random. The bathrooms smelled awful and felt disgusting to use, and the upstairs toilet often got blocked. When we raised this, staff said not to flush toilet paper and to put it in the bins instead. But the bathroom bins weren’t changed once during our entire week there. At night, we could hear squirrels or rats inside the walls while trying to sleep. The location is okay, but the living standards are nowhere near worth it. It felt more like camping than staying in a villa. I really don’t see how this can be called a villa. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.

The room was satisfactory, but the water pressure in the second-floor bathroom was low and sometimes stopped altogether, which made showers frustrating. I want to praise the nearby lady staff member for taking such good care of us. She was friendly and helpful. The problem was the owner’s attitude toward customers. He should learn to communicate more politely. We only asked for an extra mattress for an additional person, and had told him in March 2024 that we would need extra accommodation. Instead, he provided a beach lounge chair and still charged us USD30. He then accused us of replying six hours late. We hadn’t noticed his morning message because Agoda isn’t a messaging app and doesn’t send the same notifications as other messaging apps, so we couldn’t respond immediately. After he refused to provide a mattress, we stopped communicating and accepted what he offered. Later, the lady staff member kindly brought us a mattress. In my view, arguing with guests leaves a bad impression and reflects poorly on professionalism. It’s unfortunate that this behavior affected our vacation. I feel sorry for the staff member having to work under a rude boss. God bless this villa. It was an experience that taught me a lot. As a follow-up to the host’s reply, guests should be texted at least three days ahead. You can’t expect them to always be checking booking apps. Agoda isn’t a messaging app and doesn’t notify people like messaging services do. Please keep that in mind so staff aren’t left waiting unnecessarily. Since we told you in March 2024 that we needed extra accommodation, there was time to inform your staff. Adding a mattress is a common service in accommodation. You should apologize to your staff instead. We appreciate their effort, but not yours as the host or owner.
