Komodo Indah Hotel

The hostel isn’t very sociable, since most people are out and about during the day, but the staff made the stay for me. Tania and Arlene were so lovely and welcoming, I won’t forget them. The rooms are cheap and nice, with big beds and curtains, and it’s in a good location. Budget friendly too, and there’s tea and coffee available 24/7.

Good spot for a night or a couple of nights while traveling or on business: the location is great and there’s a hot shower. The shared bathroom smells, and the Wi-Fi keeps cutting in and out. Also, if you buy food outside, there isn’t even basic cutlery or a plate to use or borrow. You’d expect some at a hotel.

The location is decent, right on the main road, and the air con worked well. The bed was comfortable, but the bedding was stained and the duvet felt unhygienic. Our private double room cost £17 and was very small and basic. Shared bathrooms were dirty, mouldy, and very dated, which wouldn’t have bothered me if they’d been clean. There was no soap in any of them. It does the job for one night, but £17 felt far too expensive compared with what you can get elsewhere in Indonesia. I wouldn’t want to stay longer than a night.

No hot or warm shower, just so you know. I absolutely loved my stay at Indah, though. The mattresses were 30cm high and super comfy, everything from the room and bathroom to the toilets and communal area was SUPER clean, and the staff were super nice and helpful, especially the new girl at reception.
