Paradise Garage Komodo Villa

The staff made our two nights at Paradise Garage Villa unforgettable. We really appreciated Sari and the 2 chefs. We were there with my families, the Stephenson & Tang family, and everything felt perfect from the moment we arrived. The warm wood interiors were lovely and tastefully done, and the view from the living and dining room was one of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen. The downside is that future holidays and hotel stays will have a hard time measuring up. You’ve set the bar too high 😭

There were 7 of us staying at Paradise Garage in March, and we loved everything. The whole team was incredibly kind, and the support, breakfast, and beautifully designed house all made it such a relaxing stay. We also loved the infinity pool, spacious rooms, and comfortable beds. We had such a good time that none of us wanted to leave.

It’s a large, clean, high-standard property with a stunning view. At first everything looked like a 10/10, but I’d rate it 8/10 in the end. We’d stayed in other places in Indonesia before, and compared with those, this one felt a little less impressive. A few things could have been better. Hot water wasn’t on in every room until we asked, and one bathroom sink leaked, though we got used to it. Even the breakfasts described as “big” were rather modest. The “healthy breakfast” was made with yogurt that had expired, which we’d seen earlier in the fridge. There wasn’t a local chef, just a restaurant recommendation. There are plenty of restaurants in town, but it’s quite a long walk, so a taxi is suggested. Things were fine overall, but we’d felt more warmly welcomed at other properties in Indonesia. In some places we had juices and drinks waiting in the fridge on arrival, didn’t need to ask for hot water, and could use unused spaces even in very large houses. Maybe we’ve simply been spoiled by the greater friendliness and hospitality we experienced elsewhere in Indonesia.

The villa manager Sarie was especially helpful and really made our stay fantastic. It’s a great place for large groups, with the best views of Labuan Bajo. The villa itself was lovely, the facilities were great, and the staff were super helpful. When I go back to Komodo, I’ll definitely stay here again.
