The Jayakarta Suite Komodo Flores

There were bed bugs during my stay, which was disappointing, and I hope management sorts that out soon. The hotel has potential because the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful and make an effort to welcome guests. The rooms are average and comfortable enough, but could use updates for the price. It feels a bit expensive for the quality, and it's quite far from town, so expect a 15-20 minute ride.

I decided to move out because the service was slow to respond. The hotel feels completely overrated for its expensive price, especially since a lot of things don't work. I had an ocean-view room, but after spending ages trying, I still couldn't adjust the curtains myself. They also rent out bicycles for 100k rupees that don't work. I waited 30 minutes for them to set up a bike, wasted that time, and still didn't get one. Then I had to walk after dark.

The beach is right there, so it’s easy to step out and catch the sea breeze whenever you want. I stayed here during a visit to Labuan Bajo last year, and even with work to manage, the scenery, good food, and comfortable place to rest made it a peaceful, memorable trip. 😀

The food at the restaurant was expensive and really not worth the price. The chef was willing to make things, but the quality wasn’t there. The rooms also need a major upgrade: they look very old, and the bathroom tiles were dirty. Our fridge didn’t work and the AC barely cooled. The room we booked was meant to be deluxe with a safe deposit lockbox, but they gave us one without it and said that was deluxe. Service was lousy. The receptionist smiled, but seemed to have very poor people skills, and the manager either had no discretion or didn’t want to do anything. There was only one umbrella for our double room; when we asked for another, we were told only one was provided, and had to insist to get a second. We also had to make a fuss to get extra pillows after being told to use the one in the cupboard. There were hardly any outlets, so we asked for multiple plugs, and there was only one bedside table, on one side. I could go on and on.
