Villa Domanik

The owner, a French lady, was very kind and welcomed us with a watermelon drink. There’s also a free shuttle to and from town. Still, I can’t give this a fully positive review because one female staff member wasn’t friendly to us. I’m not sure if it was because we’re not white. She said arranging transport back to the resort after checkout would be difficult, and planned for us to go down for lunch and then straight to the airport. I remember her saying, “it’s difficult for us,” even though we asked to return to the resort because we liked the atmosphere.

The views are stunning, and all the staff gave great service. It’s a really nice place to stay. It’s a shame the on-site restaurant is only open for breakfast, but the free shuttle into town makes up for that, and more.

The quiet hillside setting and the view over the Flores sea made this a really relaxing break from town. It was only about a five-minute drive away, and the Villa’s shuttle made getting around easy. We also found it great value compared with the big tourist hotels nearby. The staff were lovely and quick to respond, including before we arrived, and the airport pickup was a real help. Melkey, Dedi, Dominik and the rest of the team took such good care of us. Breakfast overlooking the sea was a great way to start the day, and our room was clean and updated. One small heads-up: the open-air bathroom lets in a lot of mosquitoes, so bring bug spray and shut the door quickly. We had a great stay at Villa Domanik and would happily recommend it as a peaceful place close to town. Thanks for looking after us!

We came back to the resort at 8 pm and found our belongings left on a table in the restaurant, unattended all day where anyone could have taken something. We were told to leave because other guests were already in our old room, and still had to pay the bill. No compensation was offered. The staff seemed completely unprepared to deal with the situation, and we couldn't reach the manager. We had originally booked two nights, then asked to add one more because we liked the place. Staff confirmed the room was available. We left at 5:40 am for an excursion, with all our things still in the room, and had no phone signal while away. That evening, once we got reception, a text arrived from the “manager,” whom we had never met or spoken with at the resort, saying they had made a mistake and were fully booked. There was no apology, no alternative offered, and nobody answered our calls or messages.
