Villa Aarya

Our booking was cancelled by the villa the night before the trip, around 7 pm. The owner, Aarya, called to say it couldn't receive guests on those dates. When I asked why, she said it was private property and that issues with the Indonesian authorities meant guests could not be hosted. She offered Indra Maya Villa as a last-minute replacement, but given the high rate I was paying, I felt cheated by that option. A full refund was offered, but getting it was a horrible experience. Despite many calls and emails, I still haven't received the money. Aarya sounded sincere and apologetic about the delay, sent a refund receipt, and even gave me a cheque she said she would deposit. Two weeks later, nothing had arrived. I believe Aarya Surindhara was unprofessional in handling the refund and kept making excuses and telling stories to avoid responsibility. I'm also beginning to believe her shareholding company, Waterside Experience Pte Ltd, is having financial problems in Singapore, with its parent company, Waterside Pte Ltd, winding up its business, and that this may be why the refund hasn't been repaid. In my view, this was dishonest and unethical. Do not book the villa.
