Narima Resort Hotel

The restaurant food was nice, and the pool water was cool but refreshing. Service was good too. When I arrived, though, students who had been staying there for days made the place very crowded, and the inside areas were dirty. Souvenir and traditional food sellers were set up at the hotel gate.

The grounds are spacious, with lots of rooms, a pool, and a playground, and the location itself is good. But the service was really poor. We had paid and booked three rooms, yet when we arrived at 4.00 pm, they still weren’t ready. There were no towels or toiletries in the rooms either, so we had to ask for them.

It looks like this could be an excellent property, but it was very poorly maintained and badly understaffed. Ants, spiders, and webs were all over the hotel, including a huge spider outside our room. Around 6 AM, a horse was neighing and stamping right outside. The hotel apparently let a man bring it in to offer paid rides to guests’ kids, without considering the disturbance. After all this, we didn’t use the pool. We booked two rooms through Agoda, paid in advance, and told them beforehand. Even though we checked in after 9 PM, staff initially offered us only one room, saying bedding for four people was provided in each room. They gave us the second room after we explained the booking. The rooms had plenty of problems: one basin tap barely gave any water, and housekeeping said little could be done. There was no intercom, kettle, WiFi, air conditioning, or fan. The water heaters in both rooms hadn’t been started and weren’t sorted until we called housekeeping from reception in the morning. Outside it was 17 Degrees Celsius, and even after that the hot water wouldn’t run continuously. All four glasses were dirty, the blanket had cigarette holes, the sheets and pillow covers weren’t clean, both drying racks were rusty, and toilet pipes leaked. There was no tea or coffee, just four small bottles of water. Breakfast was basic, poorly attended, not heated properly, and only served until 9 AM. We reached the restaurant around 9:30 AM, saw some leftovers, and didn’t risk eating them.

For almost IDR 500.000, this felt pricey given the poor facilities. The water heater wasn’t working, and neither the towels nor the water for boiling were ready when we arrived. We had to ask for the latter. There’s no air conditioning either. I wouldn’t recommend it, since you can get much better facilities at another hotel for the same price as hotel Narima.
