Breeze Villa

At first I liked the room, its beachside location, and the view, but I wouldn’t stay again. During my six nights, I found six cockroaches in the bathroom, including two in my toiletry bag. The sheets had large stains and cracks, which I also saw in another room. Breakfast was minimal, so I bought granola and yoghurt to make it enough. They have refillable water barrels, but only for the kitchen, so guests still have to buy plastic bottles. There were piles of rubbish and leftover building material around the villas, and sometimes even basic communication with staff was difficult. They wanted 150K more than my initial nightly rate to extend my stay. The road to the villas was rough and quite dangerous on a motorbike. Card payments came with a 5% extra charge, the most I’d seen in Indonesia. For the ten-minute taxi trip back to the harbour, they asked 500K, about three times the ferry price. Luckily, I found someone who did it for 150K. Why the rip-off?

Wayan and his wife were wonderful hosts, and we even took an island tour with Wayan in his awesome yellow taxi truck. Our room at Breeze Villas was fantastic, with a comfy bed, spacious bathroom, and huge outdoor seating area overlooking the bay. It was quiet at night, unlike the main area in Nusa Lembongan where dogs bark all night. There’s a lovely beach two minutes away on foot, plus a couple of shops and several restaurants. The included breakfast was basic but tasty. The location is a bit farther from the main strip, with a bumpy but fun ten-minute taxi ride, though all the roads on the island are terrible. This was our best stay in Bali, and we hope to return soon.

Friendly staff, a clean place, and good food and drinks made for a great stay at Breeze Villas. Five stars. Can’t wait to come back!

The customer service was good, and the place is really close to a beach that wasn’t too crowded. But it’s pretty old, the bed wasn’t comfortable, and there was no hot water. The food tasted pretty bad.
