The rooms are decent for the price and location, and the staff are nice, though they can’t do anything about this. The owner leaves a French bulldog locked in a small cage behind the restaurant all day while he’s away. We stayed three nights, and the dog was let out once. For the first two days, it was sitting in its own excrement. Having lived in Indonesia, I know there are much bigger problems with animal treatment and poverty, but this seems like it could be solved simply. Apparently the dog runs off, so I don’t understand why they can’t use a collar and long rope to keep it out front. It’s cruel and unnecessary treatment of a cute dog. It seems to be there as a possession to show off, rather than as a companion. I’d never stay here again.
