Starfish Lembongan

The area around the hotel gave us a bit of a shock when our taxi dropped us off, but once we stepped inside, we were happy with our choice. It’s a family-run place, and every member of the family was lovely. While we waited to check in, they gave us a glass of delicious cold orange juice. They let us check in early and showed us to our villa, where the views are spectacular and the natural surroundings feel peaceful. You’ll hear birds, roosters, and the occasional other animal. For the price and standard of the accommodation, we wouldn’t change that, it added to the experience. You’re close to everything, and honestly, I think this is the best side of the island compared with Jungutbatu. Ceningan is just a quick trip across the yellow bridge, and it’s a beautiful, untouched spot. I highly recommend staying here, and I can’t thank the family enough for their warmth and help.

It’s a calm, cute family hotel that’s kept in good shape. They can arrange activities and scooter rental at a fair price, and the son is very helpful and reachable on Whatsapp. Breakfast is great. The mother makes it, and her banana pancake was really good. The garden is green and full of flowers, with chickens and their chicks wandering around sometimes. The pool is lovely and has a beautiful view. Rooms are good, with balconies overlooking the sea. We had one room where you could see the sea from the bed, which was perfect. If roosters and other farm animals bother you, bring earplugs for the morning. The hotel is surrounded by nature, so the animals live there.

The villas are lovely little bungalows, with a shared pool and very clean rooms. The pool area is beautiful and looks out over the sea. There are a couple of restaurants and shops nearby, though it’s about a 20-minute walk to Lembongan’s busy areas.

The rooms are comfortable, and the AC works and is clean. The bathroom needs maintenance, though, with crusty dirt in the toilet, even though the water heater works. Outside the room the lighting is very poor, and the entrance is dark. I’ve fallen twice because of it.
