Uma Hostel Lembongan

The room was okay, but the mosquito net was full of holes, which didn’t help with the mosquitoes. The place sits up on a hill, far from the beaches and other places of interest.

Madi and his family were attentive and helpful the whole time, and I’d gladly stay at Uma Hostel again. The rooms were neat and clean, with air conditioning and comfortable beds. I liked being around the middle of the island, though the spot is somewhat isolated, and it may not suit you if you can’t ride a scooter. Breakfast was the letdown for me. The advertised choices were just tea, Bali coffee, and two slices of bread.

The owners were so kind and went out of their way for us. They helped with day trip advice, found good ferry deals, booked cheap taxis, and even gave my friend scooter lifts after her accident. Breakfast was lovely, with jam and toast plus tea and coffee. The rooms were huge, the beds comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well. There were two bathrooms for every four people. Beaches and places like Devil’s Tear are a 15-20 minute walk away, so the location is best if you can ride a scooter. Then most places are only five minutes away.

The owner was really helpful, arranging harbour pick-up and return, tours, and scooter rentals. Since I don’t ride, he also offered to drop me over the bridge or to the beach. The dorms are roomy and comfy, with four beds and two bathrooms each. Great value for money, highly recommend.
