Villa Pasir Lembongan

For what it costs, this place offers very little. The photos suggest there's somewhere to sit outside, but unless you book one of the two front rooms out of four, your only options are staying in your room or using the worn, dirty loungers on the beach. There’s no pool, reception, proper shared space, or even an outdoor table. Being beachfront sounds nice, but it was frustrating to pay for that and have nowhere to spend time there. We had to go next door for a beach seat or breakfast, and pay extra. Apart from the room, it wasn’t clear where guests were meant to go. Nearby hotels cost less, or the same, and include things like shared areas, a pool, or breakfast. I can’t see a reason for this very basic place to charge more. The door in the Made room and the bathroom window don’t shut properly, so mosquitoes, flies, and other insects get in. The welcome was also disappointing compared with my many other stays in Indonesia. After the property's inappropriate response: I’m describing what happened. I asked to cancel on arrival because the faulty door and window let insects into the room, including flies on my bed. The room was dirty and the bathroom was in an unacceptable state. The outdoor table and seating shown in the pictures for my room simply weren’t there. There was no desk either, despite the listing saying there was one, so I had nowhere to work on a laptop, inside or outside. The management kept repeating its no-refund policy instead of trying to resolve anything, even though I offered to pay for the first night. A simple table would have helped. A despicable recovery.

The beach hut was just steps from the water, and sitting outside in the evening with the ocean sounds was lovely. We felt at home in the beautifully decorated, bohemian-style hut, and wished we could have stayed longer at Villa Pasir. Shanty was a helpful host and shared local suggestions. We took a snorkeling trip and saw Manta Rays and Turtles. Shops and local restaurants are within walking distance, and Shanty also arranged our scooter rental for 100k a day. We’d happily recommend Villa Pasir and hope to come back.

Villa Pasir made a lovely base for our group. We had three of its four rooms, traveling with my husband and child, a friend, and another family of four. It was easy to spend time together while still having room to do our own thing. The rooms feel like a comfortable family holiday home, with an eclectic style, and the ocean view had us unwinding straight away. Santi, the host, had things covered. The kids had sand toys and local children to play with. Linda’s resto next door has a pool and a great menu, and koa doughnut shop brought us plenty of joy. We all loved our stay. Thank you.

Such a friendly staff and a great spot on the island. The room was clean and roomy, with what we needed for a comfortable stay, and the beds were especially comfy. My top choice for a beach villa here, highly recommended.
