Coral Eye

I’ve been meaning to write this since our stay in April 2025. We had a giant cabana with lovely decor, and everything worked and was in its place. The meals were delicious and beautifully presented. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were set menus with a choice of appetizers, main courses, and desserts. The snorkeling from the beach was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. Andrea was especially attentive to us. Some rooms in the main building didn’t look as good as ours, and they were building an extension during our stay, so there was some noise, though it wasn’t unpleasant. At times, the dive center seemed focused on scuba divers, and I felt a bit discriminated against and forgotten as someone who just wanted to snorkel. I’d suggest they offer more activities for snorkelers. Sometimes a lot of trash washed onto the beach, but the hotel made a great effort to clean it regularly.

We came to Bangka Island to dive and spent plenty of time underwater. The marine life, corals, and conditions were spectacular, and the dive staff were knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and attentive. The house reef was one of the most beautiful dive sites I’ve ever seen, just 6 feet from the beach in 6-10 inches of water, full of marine life and diverse corals. The hotel and its amenities were much better than we expected. All three daily meals were different, flavorful, and delicious. We could ask for more or less, request substitutions, and let them know our meal preferences. The hospitality from the staff was impeccable. We stayed in both a pool villa and a garden villa. Both were amazing, though we preferred the pool villa because it was closer to the beach. Coral Eye is a gem on Bangka and a must-stop for divers exploring this part of Indonesia.

I was amazed by the house reef, which is packed with vibrant corals and marine life just steps from shore. As a snorkeler, that made my five days at Coral Eye unforgettable, and I already miss the place. The food was always fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared, and the staff were warm and friendly while staying professional. They also put real effort into protecting the environment, including taking part in plastic cleanup. You can see that care and purpose in how they run the resort. A truly magical stay, and I can’t wait to return.

The food was the best I’ve ever had at a dive resort, truly magnificent. The resort has been fully renovated with great style and is comfortable. The dive guides were brilliant, friendly, very experienced, and knew their stuff.
