Room service and the amenities were adequate. The boarding house is a little disappointing in one way: it's set back from the main road, though the location is still okay. Now and then, the electricity token next door makes an annoying noise.

Pondok Bintang, also listed on some apps as "Bintang Syariah" or "Pondok Bintang" (Bintang Syariah), is the same place. It's an exclusive boarding house with daily rentals, and at under 100,000 Rupiah it's one of my favorite places to stay. I'll come back when I visit Makassar. The bedroom and bathroom are spacious, the bathroom is private, and it has a shower, though they also provide a large bucket and ladle. The AC is cool and the mattress is soft. On the downside, they provide no towels or toiletries, even for app bookings. The pillows are thin, and the night guard is a teenager who doesn't yet know how to use the app as an admin. I had to wait 15 minutes to check in yesterday. It's 1 km from the main road, so I'd avoid going out at night.

The bed wasn't good. It had a sheet and one flat pillow. At the same price, you're better off at one of the many 1-star hotels.
