The room was pleasant enough, though pretty small, so that's why I gave it 3 stars. The staff are magnificent, and the atmosphere as you arrive is very friendly. A lovely hotel in Malang.

There were brown and red dots all over the bedsheets. They were dirty.

Solaris Hotel Malang is in a quieter spot, away from the busy city center, so the stay feels peaceful. There aren't many restaurants nearby, but the hotel has decent food options. The rooms were fairly clean and the staff were hospitable. A comfortable place to stay in Malang, in my view.

The noise kept me from sleeping well, and the breakfast didn't taste good. Many dinner menu items were unavailable, and that seemed to happen almost every day. The air conditioner wasn't cool enough either. Wi-Fi kept disconnecting and reconnecting, even when the connection was good.

I used to stay at this hotel for work in 2010 and found it comfortable then, but I can't say the same about my April 2024 visit. I booked online and paid around 400k rupiah for a superior room without breakfast. It smelled so bad I could barely stand it, the bedsheet was dirty, the bathroom light was dim, and the room looked old. The hot water was plentiful, though it took about five minutes to come on. I was very disappointed and wouldn't recommend it. You'd be better off paying another 100k for a newer hotel nearby.
