The room was clean enough, the bed was good, and there was hot water. Soundproofing was poor, though. I could hear the staff eating downstairs clearly.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. I do wish the bathroom door were different, though. Since it's transparent, it could feel awkward for guests staying with friends or family rather than as a couple.

Malang's central location is a real plus, with historic buildings around the hotel and food spots just a short walk away. We had a spacious room, warm and sincere staff, and an amazing traditional breakfast. The trains passing back and forth were noticeable, but didn't bother us, haha. One thing that wasn't great: I booked and paid a month ahead for a week, and the reservation staff confirmed the rate would avoid the NYE 2017 high-season price. In the end, they charged me the high-season rate anyway.

I stayed here while my sister was visiting Malang, and it was good. We got a free drink and toast. Every now and then a train went by nearby, though.

Being right in the city made it easy to get around, and the room was clean.
