The capsule setup has shared bathrooms, in case that wasn’t clear in the description. The bathroom was fairly clean and had hot water, and they left a small amount of body gel and shampoo in the room. I paid about 200k for one night in a capsule. It wasn’t perfect, but I thought it was decent for the price. The atmosphere was nice, and there are lots of places nearby, including Malang Town Square and UM. Food stalls are everywhere after just a 3-minute walk, which was very convenient. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise: there weren’t many choices, but what was offered was tasty and decent. The staff were nice too. I’d recommend staying here.

Breakfast for two is included, and the location is handy, behind Ijen Street. On Sundays there’s a car-free day market in the morning. It’s not a big hotel, but the room was clean and tidy. A good affordable option.

Our room on the third floor had a modern, minimalist bunk bed for two. The place was peaceful and clean, and I liked the bedroom and the complimentary supplies. There’s a lift. The two toilets are outside and quite far from the room, and I’d suggest checking and maintaining them regularly. One sink pipe was leaking, and the shower in the other toilet didn’t work. Even so, I’d recommend Java Boutique for a reasonably priced stay in Malang city.

I couldn’t book by phone or through the app, and when I arrived only a capsule room was available. That was okay: the room was good and breakfast was good too. There are about eight capsules but only two bathrooms. One bathroom had a broken shower handle and looked like it hadn’t been repaired for a long time; only the sink and sitting toilet worked. The other bathroom was fine, though there was a gap in the door crack that someone could look through from outside in the evening if they pressed their eye to it. The entrance parking area is rather narrow, but security guided us nicely.
