The hotel was clean and nice, and I had a big room with working AC and lots of room to unpack. I also left my Garmin watch charger cable behind. When I told them, they looked for it right away and mailed it to uluwatu the next morning, covering the postage. It arrived on time, and I’m really grateful. Terima Kasih

The room smelled awful from the mothballs they use. Loud street noise from boxes for a marathon, which apparently happens often, woke me up. Staff just said that’s how it is.

The music got really loud from 6am onward. Even with earplugs, don’t count on getting a good night’s sleep here.

I stayed in a spacious room at the back of the building, which was quieter than the street-facing rooms that can get a lot of traffic. There’s free parking in front of the hotel. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had hot water with good pressure. A solid middle-class hotel in Malang, and my room had a fridge.

The hotel has room to improve, though the reception staff were kind and helpful. They woke us at 9AM to ask about cleaning, maybe assuming we’d already be awake because of the nearby construction noise. Late checkout at 3PM instead of 12AM costs an extra 150K, which didn’t seem in proportion to the room price. If you want to check out late, you’d be better off sleeping at the hotel next door.
