After more than two months traveling around Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia, this was probably my worst accommodation. We arrived exhausted after a 17-hour train ride, ahead of check-in because of the train schedule. Even though the room was free, they wouldn't let us in unless we paid 125,000rp, nearly the price of a full night. The first room smelled moldy, and we found a cockroach, so we moved. The next room was just as bad: moldy again, sheets that didn't seem clean, two cockroaches within a few hours, one in the bathroom and one in the room, plus big ants everywhere. When a cockroach ended up in our bed, we'd had enough and decided to leave. We explained what happened but weren't refunded, even though Hostle World said we could cancel at any time. We wouldn't come back.

I stayed here in August 2018 and am only getting around to writing this now. I booked through red doors for 221.000 for two days, just 110k a day, and was surprised by how much was included. The house and room were spotless, the air smelled fresh, and the AC worked perfectly. We got two large clean towels, two mineral waters, two fluffy pillows, a big blanket, and tissues. There was also a small bag with toothpaste, a toothbrush, little shampoo and soap bottles, a folded plastic bag, cotton buds, and a small hairbrush. The staff and receptionist were helpful and friendly. The TV had lots of local channels and some international ones. The bathroom was small but clean, with soap and shampoo already there, plus really nice hot water and a Jet shower. I felt refreshed after showering, even in a Low Cost Hostel. Plenty of food sellers are close by, and there's even a pizza counter within walking distance. I'd absolutely recommend it and book again if I visit Malang.

We waited outside for a while, but no doors opened. A few people drove through without saying anything to us. If you're coming, I'd book ahead. I gave it a low rating because I don't know why reception was closed in the middle of the day.

It was quiet and affordable, and the facilities made it feel worth the price. The place was a little hard to find, though, and the room was rather narrow. Still, a nice place to stay.

The room was clean and the service friendly. A great place for foreign tourists looking for somewhere comfortable while exploring malang city. I recommend it.
